Just saying: These are cats, Not humans.
My title for now:
I had to delete all of my work because I thought of a new story line -.-
SunKit wriggled from beneath her siblings, struggling to paw her way out. GrassKit and ThrushKit kicked and mewled,
“Hey get your paws out of my face!” ThrushKit growled,
“Well you should stop smacking me with your tail!” GrassKit pushed ThrushKit’s tail away from him.
“Why don’t you all go and play with MudKit and SmallKit?” Their mother, DewFur, nudged them over to the other kits, “go on, play with some moss or something,” DewFur laid her head on her paws and closed her eyes. MudKit and SmallKit looked at them expectantly.
“Well let’s go!” SmallKit, a short dark grey tom, darted out of the nursery tunnel and into the clearing. MudKit, a fluffy light brown tabby tom, sprinted after his brother, leaving SunKit, ThrushKit and GrassKit behind.
“Well then, let’s go!” SunKit dashed after SmallKit and MudKit, she could feel the warm breath of her littermates on her tail tip.
“So what do you want to do?” GrassKit was circling SmallKit and MudKit.
“Well, I was thinking we could play hunt the mouse” SmallKit jumped up and down.
“Yeah! That sounds fun” ThrushKit waved his tail,
“Okay then,” SmallKit sat down, “so we all know how to play?” he asked. Everyone nodded their heads apart from GrassKit.
“Okay. so, there is one hunter and the rest of us are mice, the mice have to hide while the hunter counts. After the hunter is done counting they come to find all the mice,” SmallKit explained,
“What if the hunter finds a mouse?” GrassKit asked.
“Well they have to pin them to the ground and boop their nose” then he pounced on top of MudKit and demonstrated, Pinning him down to the ground and booping his nose with his blunt little claws.
“Hey that kinda hurt” MudKit wiggled out from beneath his brother,
“Oh stop whining” SmallKit rolled his eyes.
“Well let’s play, I will be the hunter first!” Thrushkit crouched down and closed his eyes, “hurry up and hide, 1…” he started to count.
SunKit made a dash to the elders den, hoping that ThrushKit wouldn’t go in there. SmallKit was following her.
“In here” she snuck into the elders den, “he won’t dare look in here, he will be to afraid he’ll get bored listening to their stories,” SunKit felt a paw cuff her ear, “who did that?” she turned around and saw MissingToe, an elderly tom, his fur was turning grey with every year that passed by.
“What are you two little ones doing in here?” the old tom asked,
“We are playing hunt the mouse, we are the mice. Can we hide here?” SmallKit looked up at MissingToe,
“Sure, sure, it is always nice to have visitors,” he then laid back down and closed his eyes, snoring softly.
“Let’s try not to wake him” SunKit beckoned with her tail, “over here” SmallKit wiggles into the small crevasse behind MissingToe.
“Hey I can’t see,” SmallKit whined as SunKit squirmed over him to get to the front.
“Stop being so loud, he’ll find us,” She whispered, “Shh, I see him, by the warriors den,” she poked her head back into the darkness, “back up a bit,” SmallKit hissed quietly.
“I give up, come out now. This isn’t fun anymore,” ThrushKit, MudKit and GrassKit were following him.
“They must of been found,” SmallKit peered over her shoulder,
“Yeah, should we go out? He said he gave up” SunKit stepped out of her hiding spot and jumped around in the clearing, “Haha, you never found us” SmallKit raced behind her.
“No fair, you were hiding in the elders den! You know that no - one would look there, you would get stuck listening to old stories. “ ThrushKit stalked away,
“Should we go after him?” MudKit asked,
“No, let him sulk.” she turned towards the nursery, “he’ll get over it,” then GrassKit and MudKit ran off to the nursery tunnel. DewFur looked down in surprise as she tumbled over GrassKit,
“Hey!” GrassKit mewed,
“Sorry GrassKit” DewFur limped over to the medicine den,
“You’ll have to start eating rabbit of you want to be taller” SunKit laughed at her brother,
“I am tall! DewFur said I am the tallest kit in the nursery” He growled,
SunKit shook her head, then ran deeper into the tunnel.
“Hurry up!” MudKit yowled from further in the tunnel, shrouded by darkness.
SmallKit hurled himself over GrassKit, who was now blocking the plath, then rushed into the tunnel.
“I am tall…” GrassKit muttered,
“What happened to DewFur?” SunKit asked,
“I have no idea, she wasn’t limping before” SmallKit sat down,
“Maybe there was a thorn in her nest?” MudKit joined them, “why don’t we go ask her?” SunKit turned around and trotted off to the medicine den. SparrowFlight, brown she - cat with darker brown flecks, was in there tending to DewFur.
“DewFur what happened?” SunKit asked,
“Oh um… there was a thorn, yes! A thorn. Uhh… it got stuck in my paw, SparrowFlight was just helping me…” SparrowFlight looked at the she-cat, concern glistening in her eyes.
“DewFur, tell her the truth. She deserves to know,” DewFur sighed.
“Alright” DewFur held the kit close, her paws wrapped around the tiny body, “well, I… am not feeling good, I am sick.” SunKit looked up at SparrowFlight who was looking DewFur in the eye.
“She’s Dying” SparrowFlight hissed,
“Why would you be so straightforward with a kit?! I was trying to tell her nicely and you…” Her voice trailed off,
“What did I do? You were never going to tell her! She needs to know the truth,” SparrowFlight Hissed, unsheathing her claws. DewFur suddenly stood up, her fur on end. Just at that moment SunKit felt herself being picked up by the scruff. She looked up and saw AmberBrook, a pale gold she-cat with a white belly.
“It’s okay ‘kit,” AmberBrook mumbled as she set SunKit on a small patch of grass, “DewFur was just…. Doing what she thought was right,”
SunKit looked up, she could feel a dark cloud of sadness well inside her.
